Grandpa Ott Morning Glory
Ipomoea nil. An heirloom morning glory that is an annual vine with emerald green, heart shaped leaves and intense royal purple trumpet shaped flowers. Blooms open in the morning and are 2 to 3 inches across. Flowers bloom continuously from early summer to early fall. Deer resistant and attracts hummingbirds and butterflies to your garden.
Morning glories require support to climb such as pergolas, walls or fences. Great in containers, hanging baskets and groundcover. This plant can be invasive so it's best to plant in a growing pot.
