Celery has long fibrous stalks tapering into leaves on the tip.  The leaves are strongly flavored and used less often, either as a flavoring in soups and stews or as a dried herb. Stalks and leaves can be eaten and used in cooking. Celery seed is used as a flavoring or spice, either as whole seeds or ground.
